What to see in Bevagna: Bevagna is a splendid medieval town and a wonderful place for sightseeing.  It is an ideal starting point for many touristic and cultural visits, to discover the natural beauty and history of ancient hilltop villages, castles and sanctuaries that look out over the Umbrian valleys.

The medieval walls of Bevagna, in total 1,700 metres in length, have been partially  conserved, and these overlay those from Roman times. The tour of the city walls of Bevagna  is recommended not only for its beauty but for its historic interest, in particular in respect to the  city gates.  We recommend you start at the Foligno Gate, going on to the Cannara Gate and  the Guelfa Gate, then the Saint Agostino Gate, finishing at the Molini Gate.

As well as sightseeing, it’s possible to participate in a medieval festival which is amongst the  most renowned in the region:  the Mercato delle Gaite takes place in June.  The 2017 festival,  from 15 to 25 June, attracted many tourists who were enchanted and swept away to ancient times.

To get to Bevagna from Gualdo Tadino, take the SS3 or the SP209.  In about an hour you can reach the town, which is 61 kms away.
